​Our client who we are pleased to be working with have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join their clinic.

About the practice:
They are an all-small animal only clinic in two busy towns – Antrim and Ballymena. They are a short drive (or bus/train journey) from the buzz of Belfast City centre or the views at the North Coast.
They run two well equipped, busy clinics with an experienced and friendly team of 8 Vets, 6 RVN, 3 ANA and 1 student nurse, 4 receptionists, 1 Practice Manager alongside their visiting specialist Ophthalmologist. Their veterinary surgeons have certificates in surgery, dermatology and exotics.
The Role:
The typical day involves admitting and preparing animals for surgery including monitoring patient status, anaesthesia, accurate record-keeping, pre and post-surgery observations, stock ordering, assisting vets with surgical procedures and consultations, running nurse consultations, discharging pets and helping to coach and mentor student nurses. Responsible for Nurse rota, holding regular nurse meetings, annual staff appraisals, weekly meetings with CD/PM, general running of practice, monthly idexx quality control samples, x-ray monitoring badges, stock control, assist PM organise sick cover if necessary, any other duties as required.

Working pattern:
Your shifts will be 32.5 hours per week, working between 8am – 7pm including 1:3 weekends with no OOH.

Salary:

Up to £27,000 negotiable D.O.E.

Applicant Requirements:
They are looking for a fully qualified RVN. Their ideal candidate demonstrates previous experience in a clinical setting, excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well within a team and sole charge when necessary.
