We're recruiting an experienced RVN for a busy, purpose-built hospital on the beautiful West Sussex coast, just outside Chichester. It's a proudly independent group, and that independence shows in everything from the clinical freedom you'll have to the genuinely warm, home-from-home feel of the building the moment you walk in.
The role
You'll be involved in first-opinion and referral care, covering medical and surgical cases, advanced diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation. It's the kind of varied, high-quality caseload that lets you stretch your skills and grow into the areas of special interest that matter most to you, whether that's clinical coaching, a certificate, leadership, or something else entirely. With referral and 24/7 emergency colleagues working alongside you under one roof, there's always support and always something to learn.
What we're offering
Salary of £29,000 – £33,000 per annum, depending on experience
A true 4-day week (40 hours), with a full hour for lunch
7 weeks' holiday (including bank holidays)
Funded CPD, with certificate funding available, so you can chase that clinical coaching goal, certificate, or leadership path

Rota: A 4-day week of 10-hour shifts (7.30am–6.30pm, 8.00am–7.00pm, or 8.30am–7.30pm), totalling 40 hours, with a 1-hour lunch break. There's an equal rota for daytime in-patient care and helping with emergencies over weekends and bank holidays, and you get 2 days off in lieu of any weekend worked. No out-of-hours, other than acting as "last resort" backup to the dedicated emergency team on a rota, which is very rarely used.
Who we're looking for
You'll be an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) with a valid driving licence and at least 2–3 years' experience (sadly no new graduates this time).

The location

You'll be moments from the South Downs on one side and the coast on the other, with Chichester Harbour's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, sailing clubs, and the wide sands of West Wittering all within easy reach. The city itself is compact and full of character, with Roman walls, the renowned Festival Theatre, independent shops and easy cafés. And it's well connected, with Portsmouth, Brighton and Southampton all under an hour and London around 90 minutes away. Whether you want coast walks or countryside on your days off, it's all right here.
