Registered Veterinary Nurse | St Helens, Merseyside
Are you an RVN looking for a role where you can build your clinical confidence, work with a varied caseload and be part of a modern, well-equipped practice?
We are working with a forward-thinking veterinary team in St Helens that is looking to welcome a Registered Veterinary Nurse into the team on a full-time basis.
This could be a particularly good opportunity for an early-career RVN who wants exposure to a broad range of nursing duties, rather than becoming too restricted to one area of practice too early.
The Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours across four days, giving you a better balance while still allowing you to stay fully involved clinically.
The weekend rota is just 2 in 9 Saturdays, 8:30am to 6:30pm, with time off in lieu provided.
You will be working across a varied first-opinion caseload, with plenty of opportunity to develop your confidence in areas including:
-
Anaesthesia
-
Theatre nursing
-
Dentistry
-
Inpatient care
-
Diagnostics
-
Nurse-led consultations
-
General first-opinion nursing
The clinic is also supported by a 24/7 veterinary hospital in Warrington, providing additional clinical support and continuity for patients that require ongoing or more intensive care.
Modern Facilities
The St Helens clinic has been designed to provide a high standard of care while giving the nursing team access to excellent facilities, including:
-
Two fully equipped operating theatres
-
Dedicated dental suite
-
Dental X-ray
-
Digital X-ray
-
Ultrasound
-
Six consultation rooms
-
Separate dog and cat wards
-
Spacious waiting areas designed with patient comfort in mind
Why This Could Be a Great Next Step
For an RVN still developing their experience, this role offers the opportunity to become a confident all-round nurse.
Rather than being limited to one type of work, you will be encouraged to use and develop the full range of your nursing skills across a diverse caseload.
There is also a strong wider veterinary network behind the clinic, giving you access to additional clinical support when needed.
The team is looking to create a supportive and inclusive environment where nurses are encouraged to contribute clinically and continue progressing.
Location
The clinic is based in St Helens, Merseyside, with good transport links towards Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
For nurses based around Liverpool, including areas such as Tuebrook, St Helens can also be a realistic option by public transport, with regular rail and bus connections available.

Alongside the four-day working week, the package includes:
-
6 weeks' holiday including bank holidays
