Registered Veterinary Nurse | Greater Manchester
£30,000 - £35,000 FTE | No OOH | 1:7 Saturdays | Flexible Hours | Certificate Support
If you’re an RVN who wants to actually use your nursing skills, work alongside an experienced team and have a rota that gives you a life outside of work, this is worth a look.
I’m working with a busy, well-established small animal practice in Greater Manchester looking to add another RVN to an already highly skilled nursing team.
A nursing role with real variety
This isn’t a role where you’ll be doing the same thing every day. Responsibilities rotate between inpatient and ward care, theatre and prep, and nurse consultations, giving you plenty of opportunity to use and develop your clinical skills.
Schedule 3 is actively encouraged, and you’ll be working with an interesting and varied first opinion caseload.
The rota
Ideally they’re looking for a full-time RVN, although there is genuine flexibility around hours and rota for the right person.
Hours fall between 8am and 8pm, with:
-
No OOH
-
Just 1:7 Saturdays, 8am to 3pm
-
Flexibility around hours and rota
A seriously experienced nursing team
You’ll be joining a team of 5 vets, 8 RVNs, 3 VCAs and 5 receptionists.
The nursing team includes three Advanced Diploma nurses, a nurse with a certificate in Anaesthesia, an ECC Nurse and an ISFM Feline Nurse.
There’s a strong focus on evidence-based medicine, clinical auditing and quality improvement, but equally important is the culture. They want people to feel comfortable sharing knowledge, learning from mistakes and contributing ideas rather than working in a blame environment.
The practice is RCVS accredited at GP level and is also accredited as a Zero Pain Practice.
Salary & development
Salary is £30,000 to £35,000 FTE, depending on your experience and the skills you can bring to the team.
There’s a generous CPD budget, with certificates actively encouraged and funded, alongside:
-
Professional memberships paid
-
Contributory pension
-
Employee reward hub and high street discounts
-
Company-wide discounts

If Greater Manchester isn’t quite right location-wise but you’re considering a move, still get in touch. I work with veterinary practices across the UK and Ireland and may have something closer to home.
Not looking yourself? Referrals are always welcome, so feel free to pass my details on to any veterinary nurses who may be open to hearing about something new.
All applications are handled with strict confidentiality.
