Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – RCVS-Accredited Hospital, Norfolk

Salary banded on years qualified + £2,000 night allowance | Full-time, permanent | Moving to a 4-day week from September

A busy, forward-thinking hospital that treats its team like a tribe

If you're an RVN who wants a genuinely varied caseload, real development, and an employer that clearly invests in its people, this one is worth a look.

I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital group in Norfolk for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their full-time team. Established in 2013, they've grown to a team of nearly 60, earned their RCVS Hospital Standard, and opened a second practice a short drive down the road. They're busier than ever, running 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and they put patient and client care at the heart of everything, with a warm, sociable, genuinely supportive team culture.

The role

You'll join the full-time rota, which includes roughly 1 in 5 weekends and approximately 1 in 10 night shifts (this can flex a little depending on staffing levels). It's a busy, varied nursing role in a hospital that prides itself on excellent standards and on developing its team so everyone enjoys their work and feels able to take the next step.

A big plus: the group is moving to a 4-day working week from September. This is initially a temporary change to be reviewed in January 2027, and if it has the positive impact expected, it will be made permanent. The extra day off runs on a rolling basis, so, for example, when you work a weekend you'll get the Friday before and the following Monday off, then the next week your day off might be a Tuesday, the week after a Wednesday, and so on.

What's on offer

  • Salary banded on years qualified

  • £2,000 night allowance, added to your yearly salary from the month you start working nights

  • 5.6 weeks' annual leave, increasing with service

  • Private healthcare and a pension

  • Uncapped CPD (with line manager approval)

  • The day off on your birthday

  • Enhanced family support and leave

  • Full salary paid for up to 5 working days' health-related absence per calendar year

  • £100 book vouchers for your children on their birthday, up to age 16

  • Staff discount and a monthly lucky dip

Who they're looking for

A qualified RVN who shares their values and passion for high-quality care, enjoys a busy hospital environment, and wants to grow with a team that's genuinely invested in helping its people progress.

The location

This is a lovely part of Norfolk to live and work. Think handsome, historic market towns, independent High Streets and traditional markets, all set against the big skies and open countryside the county is known for, with a friendly, unhurried pace of life. It's noticeably more affordable than much of the South East, yet well connected by mainline rail, with fast links to Cambridge and London. Add the nearby Norfolk coast and wetlands for wildlife lovers and weekend escapes, and it's a genuinely good-value place to call home with proper countryside on your doorstep.
