This cutting-edge facility brings together specialists in small animal surgery, internal medicine, neurology, exotics, and cardiology, along with certified rehab professionals - all dedicated to delivering gold-standard care with state-of-the-art technology.

We’re helping our client find an experienced and motivated Nurse Manager to lead the hospital's nursing team across departments, with a strong focus on Emergency & Critical Care (ECC).

The Opportunity:

  • Lead and develop a team of veterinary nurses across ECC and other clinical departments.
  • Work alongside the COO and senior clinicians to ensure smooth hospital operations and excellent patient care.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, optimize shift planning, and standardize SOPs.
  • Play a key role in workforce planning, mentorship, recruitment, and training.
  • Be hands-on in the ECC department 3 days per week (7am–7pm), with 1 operational day (9am–6pm) focused on systems improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily clinical operations and conduct annual audits to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure 24/7 ECC nurse coverage and optimize emergency triage processes.
  • Monitor ECC KPIs and patient outcomes; implement real-time response systems.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor the nursing team; liaise with universities for internship programs.
  • Manage rostering, leave planning, and staff performance across departments.

About You:

  • Diploma or degree in Veterinary or General Nursing.
  • Cert III / Cert IV or advanced veterinary nursing qualifications preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Skilled in team management, patient care, and healthcare operations.
  • Strong communicator, confident trainer, and calm under pressure.
