If you love emergency and inpatient work and want to do it in a genuinely well-equipped 24-hour hospital, with an experienced night nursing team beside you and two weeks off after every run of shifts, this one is well worth a look.
I'm recruiting on behalf of a friendly, values-led independent group near Manchester for an experienced Hospital Night Veterinary Surgeon. This is a practice that's serious about gold-standard care and about looking after its people, and it shows in both the caseload and the package.
The role
You'll join the 24-hour hospital as part of the dedicated night team, in a sole-charge position (so prior experience is essential). It's a varied, rewarding caseload covering inpatient care within the hospital alongside out-of-hours emergency and A&E cases, and you'll be fully supported by a team of experienced night nurses throughout every shift.
Behind you is the kind of equipment that makes real ECC work possible, including a CT scanner, Doppler echocardiography, flexible and rigid endoscopy, digital radiography suites, ultrasound scanners, dental radiography, electrocautery and laparoscopy, and advanced anaesthesia. As an RCVS-accredited hospital and Approved Graduate Development Practice with wider group expertise and an in-house lab to draw on, there's genuine support for your ongoing clinical development.

Salary of £65,000 per annum (inclusive of additional holiday allowance payment)

Shifts: 9pm to 9am (12-hour shifts) on a 7-on, 14-off pattern. Please note accommodation is not available for this role.
Who they're looking for
You'll be a confident, experienced Veterinary Surgeon comfortable working sole charge overnight, calm under pressure and genuinely at home with emergency and inpatient care. An ECC certificate is a bonus rather than a must, and there's full backing if you'd like to work towards one. Most of all, you'll share the group's values and passion for high-quality care in a supportive, friendly team.
