A rare opportunity has come up for an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a very well-equipped 24-hour hospital in the Greater Manchester area, offering an excellent balance of clinical exposure and genuine time off.
This role would suit someone who either already enjoys ECC/night work or a strong GP vet looking to transition into a dedicated hospital environment with proper support and facilities around them.
The rota is designed to give you your life back outside of work, with a 7 nights on / 14 nights off pattern, allowing huge flexibility for travel, family time, locum work or simply recovering properly between blocks. This works out at an average of just 28 hours per week across the year whilst still offering a strong full salary package.
The Hospital
This is a busy and progressive 24-hour hospital with a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll see a true mix of emergency consultations, inpatient management and surgical emergencies overnight, rather than simply stabilise and transfer work.
Importantly, you won’t be unsupported. The night vet works alongside an experienced overnight nursing team throughout every shift, with access to an exceptional level of equipment and support from the wider veterinary group.
Facilities include CT, advanced ultrasound and doppler echocardiography, flexible and rigid endoscopy, digital radiography, dental radiography, laparoscopy, electrocautery and advanced anaesthesia equipment.
For someone clinically motivated, it’s the kind of environment where you continue learning quickly and keep seeing interesting cases.
