Night Veterinary Surgeon | Lancashire/Greater Manchester
5 nights on / 10 nights off | 1-year FTC | 24-hour hospital | Dedicated night nursing team.
We’re working with a well-established 24-hour small animal hospital in Lancashire looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their night team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
If you enjoy ECC but don't want a rota that takes over your life, the pattern here is a big selling point. You'll work 5 nights on followed by 10 nights off, with shifts running from 7pm to 9am.
And importantly, you won't be trying to manage the hospital alone.
You'll be joining an established team of 6 vets, 7 day RVNs and 3 dedicated night RVNs, giving you proper nursing support throughout your shifts.
The role
You'll take responsibility for emergency and hospitalised patients overnight, managing a varied ECC caseload while ensuring good continuity and handover between the day and night teams.
They're looking for someone comfortable managing emergency cases and making clinical decisions overnight, but who also enjoys working collaboratively with a wider hospital team.
It's a particularly good option if you're already working in ECC and want a better rota, or you're an experienced GP vet looking to move into a more emergency-focused environment.
