​A Multi-Site Medical Director is sought to join the team at a veterinary hospital in Austin, Texas, as part of a vibrant community within Thrive Pet Healthcare. This position offers the opportunity to leverage local charm while benefiting from Thrive's extensive national resources.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree is required.

  • A state veterinary board license in good standing for the intended state of employment is required before the start date.

  • An active DEA license or eligibility for DEA licensure is necessary.

About the Hospital: Located in East Austin, this facility provides comprehensive primary care for cats and dogs, serving South and Central Austin. Services offered include low-stress wellness exams, vaccinations, spay/neuter, surgery, diagnostic imaging, preventative care, and end-of-life care. The team is dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

  • Serving areas include East Austin, Rosewood, Rainey Street, Upper Boggy Creek, and Pleasant Valley.

Role Overview: In this leadership role, the Multi-Site Medical Director will support and mentor veterinarians, fostering a culture of medical excellence and enhancing patient care outcomes. Close collaboration with practice managers and hospital leadership is essential. The position provides access to leadership training and mentorship programs, empowering professional development and career advancement.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary with production compensation opportunities, along with a progressive compensation model that includes no negative accrual.

  • Medical Director stipend and negotiable compensation based on credentials and experience, starting at $200,000 per year in a PROSAL full-time range.
