The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a great team based in County Westmeath! The practice is a Mixed practice covering 50% Small Animal work, 30% cattle and sheep, 20% equine. The successful candidate will have a Medical and surgical caseload with Clinical cases in hospital and Farm visits.
The Rota:
The rota consists of working alternate weeks 4.5 days 1 week, 5.5 days the second week, Vets are also required to work every second Saturday, plus OOH 1 in 8 weekends from July until February and 1 in 4 weekends from February until July.
Daytime hospital hours are from 9am to 7pm and OOH 7pm to 9am. For any on call weekends worked you will receive a long weekend in lieu the following weekend. In addition to this all Vets are given an early finish one day a week
Salary for the role is up to €50,000 depending on experience.
About the Practice:
They are an Accredited VCI hospital, with top of the range digital xray, Idexx blood machines, endoscopes, ultrasound, dental. In an excellent location for varied workload and excellent backup at all times.
Based in a thriving town with large rural hinterland, 1hr from Galway and Dublin by motorway connecting east to west and have an excellent social scene with a large team of colleagues
About the Team:
4 full time Veterinary Surgeons, 1 part-time Veterinary Surgeon.
2 Veterinary Nurses.
5 Support Staff.
As Veterinary assistant under the guidance of 2 clinical directors.
The Ideal Candidate:
Desire to work in mixed practice as part of a team with good work ethic. Generous time off.
Experience preferred but not essential. Superb learning opportunity for new grad. Clinical director used to aid new graduates for many years. A desire to learn is the only essential requirement.
