AUD $80,000–$150,000 | Full or Part Time | New Graduates Welcome | Optional On-Call

Looking for varied clinical work, supportive colleagues and a taste of life in Western Australia?

Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment is working with a privately owned practice in WA’s Southern Forests region seeking a vet to join its growing team. Experienced vets and new graduates are welcome, with mentorship available and scope to develop your clinical interests.

With two established clinics and a third planned, this is an opportunity to join an independent practice where your ideas are heard and there are no corporate KPIs.

The Role

You’ll enjoy an 80% small animal and 20% large animal caseload, combining consultations and routine surgery with complex medical cases, emergencies and opportunities for more advanced surgical work. Large animal work includes cattle and equine patients.

Mixed animal experience is helpful but isn’t essential, with support available to develop your skills. On-call is entirely optional, allowing you to choose whether after-hours work forms part of your role.

Modern Facilities & Less Paperwork

The practice uses AI-assisted clinical tools to help with consultation notes and patient history summaries, giving vets more time to focus on patients. Facilities include:

  • ezyVet cloud-based practice management
  • IDEXX in-house blood and urine diagnostics
  • Digital radiography
  • A vehicle for farm calls

What’s on Offer?

  • AUD $80,000–$150,000, depending on experience
  • Full-time or part-time options
  • Four weeks’ annual leave
  • $2,000 CPD allowance plus one week’s paid study leave
  • Veterinary Board registration paid
  • Visa sponsorship for eligible candidates
  • Mentorship from experienced vets, including support for new graduates
  • Potential leadership opportunities as the practice expands

The Location

Set in Western Australia’s Southern Forests, the region offers towering karri forests, rivers, wineries and national parks, with Perth approximately 3.5 hours away. It’s an appealing option for vets looking for an outdoor lifestyle and a welcoming regional community.

Who Would Suit This Role?

You’ll hold a veterinary degree eligible for registration in Western Australia and enjoy building relationships with clients and colleagues. Whether you’re starting your career or bringing established skills, an interest in a varied regional caseload is key.
