An exciting full-time opportunity is available for an experienced (5+ years) Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join a dynamic veterinary team and work across a diverse and rewarding caseload.

This role is based in Taumarunui and services the King Country and Ruapehu regions. The position offers a true mixed animal workload, including sheep and beef production animal work alongside companion animal practice, with participation in a shared after-hours roster in collaboration with a nearby clinic. The role may include periods of sole charge.

You will be working alongside a small, supportive team consisting of two mixed animal veterinarians and a casual small animal veterinarian, with access to a wider network of clinical expertise across small animal, production animal, nutrition, and emergency services.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years’ experience in mixed or production animal practice

  • Experience with sheep and beef farming systems

  • Confidence in small animal work

  • A strong commitment to client service and a professional attitude

  • Ability to work independently in a busy clinical environment

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships

  • Willingness to participate in a shared after-hours roster
