We're working with a well-established small animal practice in North Leinster region that is looking to appoint an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious vet who enjoys a varied first-opinion caseload, leading a supportive team, and playing a key role in the continued growth of a thriving practice.
The Role
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you'll combine hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities, helping to maintain excellent clinical standards while mentoring and developing the veterinary team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the clinical team.
- Managing a varied first-opinion caseload.
- Performing a wide range of medical, surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Working closely with the management team to drive clinical excellence and practice performance.
- Creating a positive, collaborative and progressive working environment.
About You
We're looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon who has:
- Strong all-round first-opinion clinical skills.
- Experience in internal medicine, surgery, dentistry and diagnostic imaging.
- Confidence managing cases independently.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience.
- A genuine passion for developing colleagues and building a positive team culture.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to the ongoing success of the practice.
The Package
- Salary up to €80,000, depending on experience.
- Performance bonus of 10–15% of annual salary.
- 40-hour week over 4 or 5 days.
- 1 in 4 Saturday mornings, with time off in lieu.
- 4 weeks' annual leave.
