The Opportunity
Join a forward-thinking, highly collaborative team working with an engaged and proactive client base. This is not a reactive role — it’s about influencing, advising, and building long-term partnerships with farmers who value your expertise.
You’ll be encouraged to step into a consultancy-style position, working closely with clients to improve herd health, productivity, and overall farm success. Regular on-farm catch-ups give you the time and space to focus on strategy, not just treatment.
You’ll also be part of a progressive environment embracing agri-tech, data, and innovation — including wearable technology and advanced herd management systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality veterinary care across dairy farms
- Carry out herd health planning, fertility work, and disease prevention
- Perform routine procedures and provide treatment for sick animals
- Build strong, trusted relationships with farmers through regular on-farm consultancy
- Support farmers in improving performance, productivity, and animal welfare
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reporting
- Work collaboratively within a supportive veterinary team
- Participate in a shared on-call rota
What We’re Looking For
- Veterinary degree (eligible for registration in New Zealand)
- Passion for dairy practice and the agricultural sector
- Confidence with herd health, fertility, and clinical case work
- Strong relationship-building skills with farmers and colleagues
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- A genuine desire to learn, grow, and make an impact
