Head Veterinary Surgeon
Brand New Clinic Opening | West London
From £75,000+ DOE | Lead From Day One | Advanced Facilities & Real Clinical Influence

A rare opportunity has come up for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a true leadership role within a brand new purpose built clinic opening in West London in August 2026.

This is not a case of inheriting an already established practice and trying to adapt to someone else’s way of doing things. This is the chance to build a clinic from the ground up, shaping the team, clinical culture, standards and long term direction from day one.

Backed by one of the UK’s largest independent family owned veterinary groups, the new site is being heavily invested in and is set to become one of the standout clinics within the region. The facilities are genuinely impressive and designed to create a modern hospital style environment for both patients and the team.

The clinic will include:

• CT scanner & advanced imaging facilities
• Dedicated orthopaedic theatre
• 4 operating theatres
• Separate dental and imaging suites
• 8 consult rooms
• Spacious prep and ward areas
• Modern in house diagnostics

As Head Vet, you’ll lead the launch and development of the clinic alongside the wider leadership structure, while remaining very hands on clinically. The role offers a strong balance between leadership and clinical work, giving you the opportunity to still enjoy consulting, surgery and case continuity while also influencing how the clinic grows and develops long term.

You’ll play a major role in building and mentoring the team, setting clinical standards, supporting governance and creating a positive and collaborative culture from the outset. For someone who enjoys leadership but still wants proper clinical involvement, this is the sort of opportunity that very rarely comes around.

The position would suit a strong all round GP vet with experience leading or mentoring others, who enjoys developing people and wants the autonomy to genuinely make a clinic their own.

The rota has also been designed with work life balance in mind:

  • 4 day week

  • 1 in 4 weekends

  • Dedicated admin time built into shifts

  • No out of hours

The location offers excellent access into Central London while still being close to greener residential areas and more relaxed suburban living, giving a great balance between career opportunity and lifestyle.

Alongside a salary starting from £75,000+, the package includes funded CPD, leadership training, enhanced family leave, wellbeing support, electric car scheme and long term progression opportunities within the wider group.

For vets wanting to lead a modern, highly invested clinic from the very beginning and genuinely influence what it becomes, this could be one of the most exciting opportunities currently on the market.
