We are looking for a dedicated RVN to help run a busy team as a Head Veterinary Nurse... Join a Large Team in 1st Class Small Animal Practice!

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, averaged, within the hours of 8am-7pm weekdays and 8.30am-1.30pm on Saturdays on rotation and out of hours on call rota. Overtime may be required and will be taken as time in lieu.
Some Duties Include:
To organise nurse rotas, holidays and sickness cover
To organise and maintain effective stock control of consumables
To oversee nursing staff and ensure all work is carried out to a high standard, especially with respect to legal processes (GDPR, RCVS Codes of Conduct for example)
To monitor the appearance of the prep room, theatre and kennels in relation to cleanliness and maintenance issues and notify the directors or practice coordinator of any problems
To participate in, then subsequently organise and run, nurses’ annual reviews
To discuss, plan and coordinate staff training, within a budget and in accordance with the practice’s needs
To communicate with the nursing team on issues concerning protocols and performance, in accordance with the practice’s needs
To attend management meetings
To communicate the needs and concerns of the nursing team to the management team
To attend practice meetings, and present topics when relevant
About the Practice:
They are a rural practice who pride themselves on a first-class small animal service, practising excellent medicine with great clients. With the usual clinical equipment, they enjoy working up their own cases and providing ongoing care.
The caseload is interesting and varied, with a bias towards dogs, but plenty of cats, some small furries and the occasional exotic or bird. Doing all of their own surgery including orthopaedics (including TTA) and have aquatic treadmill therapy for post-op rehabilitation and care of our ‘oldies’.
With a friendly and experienced team of vets and colleagues who can provide support to develop your skills, whilst working in a busy practice, with encouragement and flexibility to find your clinical pathway. The vet and nursing teams span all ages and experiences, and are very lucky to have several highly experienced members of the team, many of whom have been with there long-term.
Being a 4-site practice with the main small animal site located in Haverfordwest, Wales!
