An established small animal group in Ayrshire is looking to welcome an experienced RVN into a Head Nurse position, offering the chance to step into a genuinely supportive leadership role within a large, well-equipped and progressive team environment. The practice is also within easy commuting distance from Glasgow, making it a great option for someone looking for a better work-life balance without losing access to city life.
This is an ideal opportunity for an RVN looking to take the next step in their career whilst still remaining heavily involved clinically. The team places a huge focus on nurse utilisation, development and creating an environment where nurses are genuinely valued and listened to.
The role would suit someone confident leading by example, supporting and mentoring a nursing team, whilst still enjoying hands-on nursing, inpatient care, anaesthesia and nurse consults. They are looking for someone positive, approachable and team-focused who enjoys being part of a collaborative culture.
The wider team consists of 14 vets, 12 RVNs, experienced senior nursing support and multiple clinical coaches across three sites in Ayrshire. There is excellent support in place from senior leadership and fellow head nurses, making this a great opportunity for someone stepping into leadership or already experienced in a head nurse role.
The practices are modern and well equipped with multiparameter monitors, ultrasound, fluid pumps and BP monitoring equipment, with a strong focus on high clinical standards and continuous improvement. Several nurses within the team also hold additional interests and training in areas including behaviour, pain management, acupuncture and Schedule 3 procedures.
The position can be full or part time, covering between 30 and 40 hours per week, with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota and no out of hours.
