Love Variety and Want a Role That Fits Your Commute? Step Into a Float Veterinary Surgeon Career Designed Around You

If you thrive on flexibility, enjoy working with diverse teams, and prefer not to be tied to one clinic, this Float Veterinary Surgeon opportunity could be the ideal fit for your lifestyle and professional goals.

About the Role

As a Float Veterinary Surgeon, you will only attend clinics that are genuinely accessible for you, with scheduling arranged in collaboration with our rota team to ensure your working pattern works for your commute. Whether you prefer 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week, we can tailor the structure to suit you.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of clinical environments—from sole-charge practices to large hospital settings—allowing you to work with varied caseloads and dynamic teams while still receiving consistent support from senior management.

Weekend shifts are required but not fixed into rigid patterns, giving you greater freedom to coordinate personal plans. Sunday and bank holiday cover will be at the nearest 24-hour hospital to your location.

This role offers the stability that locuming cannot provide: a secure income, and structured support while still maintaining the variety and autonomy many vets enjoy.

What You’ll Receive

This position offers a well-rounded benefits package designed to support your career development, wellbeing, and financial stability:

  • Competitive salary ranging from £50,000–£80,000 FTE, with room for progression

  • Flexible rota options, built around your preferred clinic locations

  • Accommodation available in certain areas, depending on need

  • A generous annual leave package to promote work–life balance

  • Enhanced CPD allowance with protected time for learning and professional development

  • Private medical insurance for comprehensive healthcare support

  • Paid professional memberships and licensing, reducing administrative burden

  • Employee wellbeing initiatives, including confidential assistance services

  • Attractive staff discounts across clinical services and partner schemes

  • Relocation assistance where applicable

You will also join a collaborative network of veterinary professionals known for their dedication, clinical excellence, and supportive culture.
