Farm Veterinary Surgeon
Somerset / East Devon
Progressive Dairy-Focused Practice

Are you an experienced Farm Vet looking to take the next step in a supportive, forward-thinking team?

At Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment, we are pleased to be working with an established, farm-animal-only practice covering Somerset and Devon. The team combines traditional service values with a modern, proactive approach to herd health and dairy consultancy.

The Role

This is a varied position with a strong dairy focus, offering the chance to take real ownership of clinical work while contributing to the development of services.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Routine fertility and herd health management across more than 30 dairy farms

  • Beef, sheep, and youngstock work providing a genuinely mixed caseload

  • Delivering discussion groups and farmer training

  • Shaping and driving clinical standards within the practice

  • Working alongside vet technicians and ATT staff, allowing you to focus on clinical duties

The out-of-hours rota is currently 1:6 and typically quiet.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary reflective of experience and responsibility

  • Flexible working options considered

  • Strong support for CPD and post-graduate development

  • A collaborative, knowledgeable team with a positive working culture

  • A well-supported environment where vets are encouraged to develop their own interests

This role would suit a farm vet who enjoys proactive herd work, values autonomy, and wants to be part of a close-knit team delivering high-quality service to progressive farmers.
