Experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon,

HORSHAM – SEVENOAKS – ASHFORD

Here at Lloyd & Cowan we are working with a practice in Horsham that are searching for a proactive, enthusiastic, and experienced farm Vet to join their friendly and supportive team of Vets in South-East England. 100% Farm animal practice.

Flexibility on base of preference, across Surrey, Sussex, or Kent. All are sought-after living locations, ideally placed for travel links: immediate motorway access, direct rail lines to London, close to Gatwick and other London airports. Multiple areas of outstanding natural beauty on the doorstep: Surrey Hills, Kent Downs, and High Weald – plus the South Downs and Ashdown Forest.

Horsham, close to Brighton and the South Coast, is a busy VetPartners hub, with an equine practice, small animal referral centre and Farmacy.co.uk all on the same site. Sevenoaks and Ashford are both surrounded with National Trust properties and historical attractions.

There is a varied client base ranging from commercial dairy, beef, small ruminant, and camelid, to small holders, open farms, colleges, and pet farm animals. In all contexts, our aim is to be progressive and offer the highest level of service. There is opportunity to focus on personal areas of interest. There are multiple avenues towards a successful career in farm animal practice. It can focus on different species, different types of production system and client base, population level, individual level, medicine, surgery, productivity, specific clinical aspects, or cross over with other aspects of agricultural advice. And if you want to add non-clinical strings to your bow, we support varied career development. If you are interested in teaching and Veterinary education, we are closely involved in teaching students from the University of Surrey.

They work typically a 1:4 rota, but with seasonal variation. There is a day in lieu per weekend worked, and half-day once per week.
