Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurse – Exceptional Opportunity in a New Out-of-Hours Service
I’m excited to share an excellent opportunity for an experienced ECC Veterinary Nurse who thrives in fast-paced emergency work and wants to play a key role in launching and supporting a brand-new overnight service. If you’re looking for a role where your skills genuinely make an impact—and you enjoy true work-life balance—this could be an ideal fit.
This position offers a 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota, giving you extended downtime while still allowing you to practice advanced ECC nursing at a high level. You’ll work alongside a dedicated clinical team, providing exceptional care throughout the night and contributing to the development of a growing 24/7 service.
What the role involves:

Continuous monitoring and care of critically ill patients

Emergency triage, stabilisation, and procedural support

IV access, diagnostics, medication administration and critical care nursing

Anaesthetic support and post-op monitoring

Maintaining sterile conditions and infection control

Clear, compassionate client communication
-
Effective collaboration with vets, nurses, and support staff

Accurate record-keeping and structured patient handovers
What you’ll bring:

RVN qualification with full registration
-
5+ years’ small-animal nursing experience
-
Confidence in emergency nursing and decision-making
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Ability to stay calm, organised, and compassionate under pressure
