Our client is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their well-established mixed practice. They require a small animal nurse who enjoys various job aspects including clinics, theatre work, and patient care.

About them

The main branch boasts excellent facilities such as x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and a well-equipped laboratory. It also features cat, dog, and exotic kennels, along with separate isolation kennels and fenced paddock areas for inpatient exercise. While the branch surgery is smaller, it remains busy with a strong client base, offering a more family-oriented atmosphere.

This practice serves as a training ground for College of Animal Welfare (CAW) students, offering both degree and diploma programs. The nursing team consists of 16 Registered Veterinary Nurses (both Small Animal and Equine), 4 Student Veterinary Nurses, and 1 Veterinary Care Assistant. Additionally, there are 13 SA Vets and 4 Equine Vets, with onsite Hydrotherapists and Physiotherapists.

The team encourages professional growth and supports further training. Many team members hold advanced certificates in various specialties. Previous experience as a clinical coach, or a willingness to become one, is advantageous.

Working Pattern

Shifts occur between 7am and 7.30pm, with some weekday sleeping duty shifts included. Accommodation is provided, with additional OOH retainer fees paid on top of the agreed salary.

The practice offers its own out-of-hours (OOH) service, with a 1 in 8 weekend rota including sleeping night duties on a rota basis.

To maintain work-life balance, a 35-hour week is provided to offset unsocial hours encountered during OOH work.

Staff kennels are provided, allowing you to bring your dog to work with you!
